Former Director of the Missile and Space Intelligence Center, Dr. Glenn Priddy was inducted into the U.S. Air, Space, and Missile Defense Distinguished Civilian Wall of Honor as a part of the 12thAnnual Space and Missile Defense Conference held at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama; on Tuesday, the 18th of August 2009.
Assisting in the induction ceremony were Lieutenant General Kevin T. Campbell, Commanding General of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command / U.S. Army Forces Strategic Command, and Dr. Rodney L. Robertson, the ASMDA 2009 President.
Dr. Priddy served twenty-seven years in federal government civil service as a member of the Missile and Space Intelligence Center (MSIC) including five years as Director and as a member of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command’s (USASMDC) Technical Center. As Director of MSIC, he directed engineering performance, capability, and vulnerabilities assessments of foreign weapon systems including ballistic missile systems, anti-satellite weapons, and directed energy weapon systems. During his assignment at USASMDC, Dr. Priddy also served in the Alabama Department of Homeland Security where he was responsible for all Science and Technology programs and personally led the development of the interoperable communications architecture for the State of Alabama.
Dr. Priddy was the Associate Director, Space, for the Space and Missile Defense Command Technical Center (SMDCTC), Huntsville, Alabama, where he was responsible for overall strategy and performance of Space and Space-related technology developments for U.S. Army applications. He was a Vice President of Nichols Research Corporation from 1990 to 1999 where he led the Special Programs Business Unit. Prior to that, Dr. Priddy was Director of the U.S. Army Missile and Space Intelligence Center from 1985 to 1990. He also served on the Department of Army Staff for two years as Special Assistant to the Army Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence. Dr. Priddy also served in the U.S. Army as an Air Defense Artillery officer.
Dr. Priddy holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama, a master’s degree in business administration from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical (A&M) University of Huntsville, Alabama, and a doctorate degree in Management from Southeastern Institute of Technology. He also holds a Private Pilot license. He was awarded the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal for service to the Intelligence Community.
For over three decades, Dr. Priddy made significant technical, business, and leadership contributions in the areas of scientific and technical intelligence, space and missile defense, and homeland security.
Dr. Priddy was the 40th member of the U.S. Air, Space, and Missile Defense Distinguished Civilian Wall of Honor.
